Saddle Oak Club hosting Memorial Day potluck

Greetings from Saddle Oak Club!

Happy belated Mother’s Day! We had a fantastic brunch here at Saddle Oak Club created by Jerri and Sheri Goodman-Martin. Such detail! The clubhouse was decorated with pretty tablecloths and fresh flowers. Very inviting.

And did I mention the food? Fantastic! We had fresh fruit, yogurt parfaits, quiche, croissants, cupcakes, candies, etc. The list goes on and on. It was wonderful. Thank you so much, Jerri and Sheri!

This month, the ladies luncheon will be held at Eaton Beach in Weirsdale, Florida. I’ve been there before and like to sit outside and look out over the water. Always watching for alligators. The food there is very good, and the open air atmosphere is nice.

Memorial Day will be here soon and plans have been made to celebrate. At 11 a.m. on Monday, May 29, there’ll be a short ceremony outside the clubhouse at the Veteran’s Memorial and the flagpole. Afterwards, we’ll be having a golf cart parade. Later that day at 5 p.m., we’re having a potluck at the clubhouse. The potluck dinner will be hosted by Kim Smith.

Tails from the dog park

We had a surprise happening near our dog park! A baby hawk appeared one day and has decided to stay. He hasn’t learned to fly yet, so he’s been seen on the ground just looking around. He is really cute, but I hope he takes to the sky soon before one of the neighborhood cats sees him. I warned the mowers this morning to look out for him.
