LEVY COUNTY — Two people were injured in a one-car accident that occurred on May 5 in Levy County.

According to a release from FHP, at around 6 p.m., a black Sedan was traveling northbound on State Road 500. The driver, a 31-year-old male of Ocala, started to veer out of the lane and left the road on the east shoulder. The driver then overcorrected and ended up making his way across both northbound lanes of traffic and entered the median, according to the release. The vehicle kept going west before coming off of the ground in the median.

According to the release, the Sedan then rolled over and went across the southbound lanes of State Road 500. The vehicle came to a stop on the west shoulder facing south. Both the driver and passenger, a 32-year-old male of Trenton, were taken to the hospital. The driver is in critical condition, while the passenger’s injuries were listed as minor.

The driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The passenger, however, was not, according to the release.
