The Chronicle’s three-time Swimmer of the Year has not only reached states each year of her prep career, but medaled every season, collecting four overall.
Last week in a meet against rival Crystal River, Macaisa won the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly, and was on a pair of winning relays, to help the Panthers defeat the Pirates and claim the county championship.

Crystal River because our rivalry is so strong that each school has a ton of people coming out to support. The friendly yet highly competitive atmosphere makes it fun
3. What’s in your playlist?
A lot of hiphop and rap to hype me up, but I always listen to a song by Big Sean before my races at big competitions
4. Favorite subject in school?
5. Why do you play this sport?
At first my mom challenged me to try the sport out for a month and when I won my first race I instantly loved the sport and also got a club penguin gift card as a reward
6. Favorite college or professional team?
7. Favorite non-athletic activity?
When I can I love baking for my family
8. Proudest moment competing in your sport?
When I qualified for Junior Nationals in the 100 fly and then later competing at Junior Nationals for several events in Greensboro
9. Favorite food?
Apples and peanut butter
10. Favorite TV show?
The Umbrella Academy on Netflix was really good! My dad and I binged watched the show way too fast
