Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s signature piece of legislation — the Equality Act (H.R.5) — was finally brought to the House floor for a vote, where we all knew it would be passed. To everyone on the right’s dismay, Speaker Pelosi and the Democrats managed to gain the support of eight Republicans to help push the legislation across the finish line.
Before we fall into a state of deep depression and end up crying in our adult beverage, we need to take the time to relax and mentally digest this bill from hell.
Let’s take a good look at this legislation.
It endangers individuals by recognizing an individuals’ “chosen gender” instead of his or her “biological sex.” This would force females to share bathrooms, locker rooms, showers and sleeping facilities with biological males who have chosen to identify as a female. Ask yourself, are you comfortable exposing your female family members to such humiliation?
It would allow biological males who identify as a female to compete in women’s sports where they would surely dominate. What will happen to the females who depend on sports for scholarships in order to obtain a higher education?
It would cause parents to lose the right to decide the best medical care for their child suffering from gender dysphoria. The courts have sided with transgender clinics against the parents who have refused radical hormone therapies for their children. Are you ready to turn control of your children over to Big Brother?
It’s clear that this legislation does not create equality. Equality is never created by taking away the rights from one group, only to pass them along to another. This legislation erodes protections for females, would take children away from their parents who refuse radical hormone therapies and targets people of religious faith. Ask yourself, is the left ever going to stop attacking religion and those of faith?
This bill will die in the House. I see no chance that the Senate will give it the time of day. But be warned, the Democrats will continue their exodus to the far left and continue to produce abominable pieces of legislation, like the Green New Deal and the Equality Act. This makes it all the more important that we continue to remain vigilant for additional radical legislation that is sure to come.
