There is still time to request a Vote by Mail ballot for the March 17 Presidential Preference Primary election. To request a ballot, call the Supervisor of Elections office at 352-564-7120, email vote@votecitrus.com or visit votecitrus.com. Vote by Mail ballots may be hand-delivered to the Supervisor of Elections office at 1500 W. Meadowcrest Blvd., Crystal River. Ballots delivered after 7 p.m. on Election Day will not be counted.

Party change deadline for voters approaches

Voters have until Tuesday, Feb. 18, to register to vote or change their political party to vote in the March 17 Presidential Primary election. To register online or find additional information about registration, go to the website www.votecitrus.com. Voter registration applications in English and Spanish are available on the website to print and deliver in person to the elections office or to mail to PO Box 1870 Lecanto, FL 34460. Voter registration applications may be obtained by calling 352-564-7120 or toll-free 800-655-6645, or by or visiting the Supervisor of Elections Office, 1500 Meadowcrest Blvd., Crystal River.

15th annual Purple Heart Ceremony  

Chapter 776’s annual Purple Heart Ceremony honoring Citrus County’s fallen heroes and combat wounded warriors will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Citrus County Fairgrounds Auditorium, 3610 S. Florida Ave., Inverness. The ceremony will feature patriotic music by members of the popular Nature Coast Community Band.
