Ta-ta, termites

The three-story Masonic Temple in downtown Inverness, along with an adjacent building that is home to several merchants, is tented for fumigation Sunday morning. Accurate Pest Management was contracted to fumigate the approximately 500,000 cubic feet of space for termites, according to Accurate Pest Management owner Ed Williams. Once the thick tarps are securely in place and are airtight, gas is pumped into the building to kill termites. Williams said the tarps would be removed after being in place for 16 to 18 hours. Normal business operations in the two buildings will resume Tuesday, he added.
