The Art Center of Citrus County is seeking submissions for an exhibit. This is open to everyone over the age of 18. Two-dimensional artists are welcome to submit their work for this judged exhibit in the categories of Paintings: Oil and Acrylic, Graphics and Mixed Media, Paintings: Water Media and Photography: Black and White and Color. Entries for the exhibit may be dropped off between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the Art Center, 2644 N. Annapolis Ave., Hernando. The entry fee is $15 for two works for members, $30 for two works for nonmembers and $5 for each additional work up to five. Artists may offer their works for sale.
Democratic Black Caucus to meet
The Citrus County Democratic Black Caucus will meet from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Oysters Restaurant, 606 NE U.S. 19, Crystal River. All registered Democrats are welcome to attend. Lucille Tompkins Davis will speak about African American suffragettes.
Republican club to meet
The Homosassa River Republican Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Marguerita Grill, Halls River Road, Homosassa. The guest speaker will be Sheriff Mike Prendergast. Complimentary beverages will be served prior to the meeting.
Attend a presentation from Michele Kline
Citrus County Audubon will host Michele Kline, president of HOPE Wildlife, from 7 to 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the Unity Church of Citrus, 2628 W. Woodview Lane, Lecanto, to discuss her work in wildlife rehabilitation. Meet Skye, peregrine falcon, and a surprise visitor. This event is free to attend but donations of bleach, Simple Green, clean towels and paper towels will be accepted. It is suggested to arrive early as seating is limited. There will be a raffle and announcements of upcoming Audubon birding field trips and Audubon birding events in 2020.
