Citrus County’s special needs shelter is temporarily moving to the Renaissance Center at 3630 W. Educational Path in Lecanto. The move is effective immediately.

Moving the special needs shelter, the only one in the county, allows Forest Ridge Elementary School, the pervious location of the special needs shelter, to finish a fire alarm system upgrade.

The Forest Ridge facility will be out of service until next school year and the Florida Department of Health in Citrus County (DOH-Citrus) and Citrus County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Operations Division will use the Renaissance Center as the temporary special needs shelter until then.
