A single-vehicle crash on a Crystal River-area roadway killed a man and critically injured a female passenger.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) report, which doesn’t ID the motorists involved in the 6:26 a.m. rollover on Friday, Nov. 27, 2020, the 48-year-old man from Crystal River was driving a pickup truck north on North Citrus Avenue, approaching the intersection with West Dunklin Street.

For unknown reasons, the truck left the road, travelled into the eastern grass shoulder, reentered the road via northbound lanes and spun into the entranceway of a nearby property.

There, the vehicle overturned several times, ejecting the man and partially ejecting the passenger, a 40-year-old woman from Beverly Hills, according to the FHP report, which stated neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt.

According to FHP reports, the woman was critically injured, and the man died from serious injuries.
