Crystal River High School Interact Club member Jaden Matthew, 17, helps 8-year-old Camila Farias of Hernando Elementary School Saturday morning as dozens of children from elementary schools across the county are assisted with shopping through a program organized by the Crystal River Rotary Club. Rotary Clubs from across the county, along with their younger counterparts in Interact clubs in area high schools met with their young shoppers and given a $100 gift card to be spent at the Lecanto Walmart. A total of 100 student shoppers were assisted buying gifts for their family.
Sophia Monsalve, 16, a member of the Crystal River Interact Club, works with Central Ridge Elementary School student Leigha Wolf, 11, Saturday morning. Volunteers aid young children by totaling their purchases to make sure they come in under the $100 amount each of the 100 elementary students were given through a program put on through various Rotary Clubs within Citrus County. The Crystal River Rotary Club organized the event.
