Parade of trees

The 18th Annual Parade of Trees will be held 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 and 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, 4705 W. Gulf to Lake Hwy, Lecanto. 

The 18th annual Parade of Trees will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, and 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, 4705 W. Gulf to Lake Hwy, Lecanto. Admission is a new toy or non-perishable food item to benefit Citrus United Basket. Thursday will include a tree viewing, raffles, Chinese auctions, and Santa Claus, who will have presents for children in attendance from 5 to 7 p.m. On Friday, the Gala Evening will include the Parade of trees viewing, cocktail hour, festive dinner buffet, Chinese auction, raffles and door prizes, and live entertainment with Sally Langwah. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Cost for the Parade of Trees Gala Event is $50.00 per person. To purchase tickets, email or call Judi McEvoy at 352-586-2662.

Key Training Center presents 'Tree of Hope'

The Key Training Center is presenting the 30-foot “Tree of Hope,” a Citrus County tradition. The tree is lit in dedication to the men and women with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. All are welcome to “come and light up the Key Training Center, bringing joy to everyone who drives by it.” The official tree lighting ceremony will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at the Key Center Foundation Office parking lot, 5399 W. Gulf to Lake Hwy., Lecanto. There will be music and refreshments, with a visit from Santa Claus as well. Donate $25 at any time by calling 352-795-5541 ext. 312 or by visiting the Foundation Office.
