The newest McDonald’s in Citrus County needs 60 employees and hiring has begun.
The fast-food restaurant is going up at lightning speed at the northwest corner of U.S. 19 and U.S. 98. J.C. Prado, CEO of the Tampa-based Prado Group and owner of the new restaurant, said he hopes to open in mid-March.
Prado said he’s already identified managers to open the restaurant but needs just about every other position filled.
“We’re starting to actively hire for (that location),” he said.
If interested, job seekers can visit Prado’s other two McDonald’s: one in Homosassa at 3740 U.S. 19 (just north of Homosassa Trail) and the other at 625 U.S. 19, just north of State Road 44.
Prado reiterated again that he wishes more trees could have been saved on the site. He knows that Sugarmill Woods resident Louise Rogers’ had fought to save two of the giant oaks on property.
He’s glad land-clearers were able to save at least one tree — the oak that fronts Miss Maggie Drive.
Prado said he’s hopeful McDonald’s will plant more trees “to offset what we took out and they will mature and grow.”
