The Currys to perform tonight
This evening, The Currys will perform at the Old Courthouse Heritage Museum, 1 Courthouse Square, Inverness. This independent folk trio is well known and loved throughout the South and beyond.
The Currys are an Americana trio with family ties and who have had an appreciation for folk, rock and roots music a majority of their lives. Two brothers, Jimmy and Tommy, and cousin Galen have anchored their songs by the sort of elastic, entwined harmonies that only exist among kin. In their second record, “West of Here,” all three members contributed to the song writing on the album that deals with the constant search for home.
The Currys are an acoustical must-see band. Call 352-341-6428 to reserve a seat. Tickets are $15/per person and include after-dinner sweets and beverages, including coffee, soda and water.

Solar co-op topic of meeting
The Homosassa River Alliance will hear a special report on the formation of a solar electric co-op being started in the county. Maxine Connor of the League of Women Voters will explain the purpose and organization of the co-op. If established, this would be one of many being created in Florida with the intention of providing homeowners with assistance and savings, should they wish to install a solar electric system in their home.
Whenever new technology is offered to the public there is always the possibility that individuals will be confused and taken advantage of by shady offerings. The co-op is intended to provide guidance to allow homeowners to avoid excessive costs and have assurance that they are provided with an appropriate system.
The River Alliance will meets today at the Learning Center of the Homosassa Civic Club. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. and be open to the public.
