Jenkins Auto Group President/CEO Tom Formanek introduces Dunnellon High School senior Eleazar "Laza" Quetant to his new vehicle Dec. 22, 2020, in Ocala. Quetant lost his parents in September and his car recently broke down. Family friend Debbie Wright is behind Quetant.

Ocala-based Jenkins Auto Group has acquired the Citrus Kia dealership at 1850 U.S. 19.

With the acquisition, Jenkins Auto Group now has 13 dealerships spread throughout Florida and Georgia.

The new name of the dealership is Jenkins Kia of Crystal River.

“We’re excited to expand our presence to the Crystal River area and continuing the growth of this dealership as an important part of our award-winning group,” said Tom Formanek, president and CEO of Jenkins Auto Group.

David Dondanville, general manager at the Crystal River Kia for the past five years, will continue in that role, Formanek said.

“David is an important part of our team,” he said. “We welcome him to the Jenkins family and look forward to working with him and creating an even brighter future for this new acquisition.”

Maria Patino, customer and community relations director for Jenkins Auto Group, said there were no changes in employees at the dealership, which operated as Citrus Kia for 15 years.

Patino said the Jenkins Auto Group is “very involved” in each community it serves and Citrus County is no exception.

Jenkins gives the teacher of the year in its communities a three-year car lease and Patino said she’s already been in contact with the Citrus County Education Foundation.

“We’re just thrilled to be (in Citrus County),” she said.
