The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for any information relating to a string of Citrus Springs vehicle robberies.

Deputies are investigating at least four vehicle robberies that occurred late Thursday and early Friday morning along West Gardenia Drive. Investigators are still taking stock of what items were stolen from the vehicles, but they included a firearm, sheriff’s-office spokeswoman Jodi Sanders said.

“It looked like they just went down the street,” Sanders said. “All the cars were unlocked.”

“That’s why we’re trying to promote our Secure Citrus campaign,” Sanders said.

Sanders said deputies are still investigating the robberies, but there could end up being more than four.

The Sheriff’s Office wants to “remind people that when they’re out and about or at home, lock your door,” she said.

Sanders also asked any area residents who have home security video systems and recordings that could shed some light on the robberies to contact the sheriff’s office.

She said that no witnesses have come forward with any information.
