A Hernando home was left uninhabitable Tuesday after a blaze broke out in the early morning hours.

Firefighters at 2:13 a.m. responded to a residential home fire on North Bighorn Point, according to a news release from Citrus County Fire Rescue.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control by 3 a.m., but damage from the fire rendered the home uninhabitable, according to a Citrus County Fire Rescue press release. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation and there were no reported injuries. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the homeowner with any needs.
