The new Wendy’s restaurant at the corner of U.S. 98 and U.S 19 in Homosassa could be open as soon as April.
A site contractor said Wednesday he must turn the building over to the fast-food chain in 82 days and then it will be up to Wendy’s to schedule an opening. The building is on the southwest corner of U.S. 19 and U.S. 98, directly across from the new McDonald’s.
Meanwhile, there is no word on when construction will begin on the new Taco Bell near that intersection. The restaurant will share a driveway with the 7-Eleven at 9335 U.S. 19 and patrons will be able to also access the Publix-anchored Shoppes of Sugarmill Woods.
This will be the second Taco Bell in Homosassa — the other one opened in March 2018 and is 6 miles north by Homosassa Trail.
