Local businesses starting Monday can apply for two different grants to help them financially due to COVID-19 expenses.
The Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) micro grant will have a minimum award of $250 up to a maximum $2,500. It will pay up to $2,500 for business's PPE expenses incurred between March 1 and Dec. 15, 2020.
The Small Business Retrofit/Adaption grant will have a maximum award of $10,000 per business.
This is to pay for business's adaptation and modification COVID-related expenses incurred between March 1 and Dec. 15, 2020.
A small business may be eligible for both grants.
The Citrus County Chamber of Commerce recently proposed a plan to county commissioners to offer these grants and commissioners approved and adopted them.
Both grants will be offered through the county on a reimbursement basis and will require the business owner to submit an application online through SurveyMonkey.
