The cutoff date for applicants seeking to become Citrus County’s next county administrator has come and gone.
Now begins the paring down.
Georgia-based Slavin Management Consultants, the headhunter firm vetting the position for the county, received five more applications right up to the Aug. 19 deadline. That brings the total to 25.
The Chronicle published a snapshot of the first 20 last week. Here are the other five:
James Drumm, township manager for Manheim Township in Pennsylvania (2021-22)
Oliver
Stanley Kawthorne, town manager for Bloomfield, Connecticut (2021 to present)
Michael Savage Sr., director of building safety for Marion County, Florida (March 2018 to present)
Terry Suggs, county administrator for Putnam County. Florida (September 2017 to present)
David Fanslau, vice president of operations for The Center For Discovery in Harris, New York (2013 to present)
Slavin is expected to complete the vetting process by Sept. 5. County commissioners will select candidates to interview by Sept. 13 and will interview them Sept. 26-27.
After more than seven years on the job, County Administrator Randy Oliver in February submitted his resignation earlier this year and told the board he would stay no later than Nov. 29 for the county to find a replacement.
