Attend a Genealogy Seminar

The Citrus County Genealogical Society will host a seminar from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 439 E. Norvell Bryant Highway, Hernando. The speaker will be Ann Staley, professional genealogist. Cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members, if paid in advance. $3 more will be charged if purchased at the door. Chinese Dynasty Fashion Show in February

Attend a Chinese Dynasty Fashion Show from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Citrus Hills Golf and Country Club, 505 E. Hartford St., Hernando. This show will feature dresses from Chinese dynasties from a 40-year collection by a native of Shanghai who now lives in Citrus County. Cost is $40.

Wildlife club to meet

Tricky Tray to take place this month

The St. Scholastica Council of Catholic Women will host its annual Spectacular Tricky Tray event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29, at 4301 W. Homosassa Trail, Lecanto, in the church hall. Paint rocks at Fort Cooper

Fort Cooper State Park will host a morning of rock painting while overlooking Lake Holathlikaha from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 29, at 3100 S. Old Floral City Road, Inverness. Participants may bring their own rocks and paint supplies or use the ones provided. Park entrance fee is $3 per vehicle. It is recommended to bring water, insect repellent, a camera and binoculars. Citrus Blessings to host annual road race

“Leap” into a great fundraising run with a distance for every level at the 10th annual Citrus County Blessings 5/K/10K and 1-Mile Walk. This year’s event will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 29, at Drummond Bank, 2455 N. Citrus Hills Blvd., Hernando. Registration fees are $35 for the 10K run; $25 for the 5K run and 1-mile fun walk. Price increases after 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26. Registration fees include T-shirts, food, music and giveaways. In addition, awards will be presented in 5-year age groups as well as recognition for the top overall male and female and master’s winners in the 5K/10K runs. The Corporate Cup Challenge is back again this year, event organizers said. There will be an award for the most participants registered in all distances in two categories: community and corporate/business.
