Ending the school year with a splash

Eleven-year-old Haley Lindsey holds Gloria Griffin's hair back May 20 during Rock Crusher Elementary School's annual wet field day activities. The event is held throughout most of the last full week of school for public school students and features many outdoor, fun activities including a inflatable water slide and a slip-n-slide down a slope at the rear of the school. The girls above, both fourth-graders, are having shaving cream washed off them as the shaving cream station ends for their class. This week students will attend a shortened week of school and classes will end for most kids, marking the unofficial beginning of summer for many.
