A 94-year-old Inverness woman who wandered from her home Thursday afternoon was found dead along a walking trail on Saturday, authorities said.

No foul play is suspected in the death of Mary Huntington Gates, the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office said on its Facebook page.

A neighbor last saw Gates around 3 p.m. Thursday driving a Ford Focus. The sheriff’s office reported Saturday morning the car was found and it appeared she had gone walking along a trail near Haven Street and Pleasant Grove Road.

The sheriff’s office issued a Silver Alert shortly before 12:30 p.m. Saturday and then canceled it 15 minutes later after her body was discovered near the trail, the Facebook post states.
