A Dunnellon teen died after his vehicle went off the road and struck a tree in the early morning hours on Jan. 7. Alexander Kozlov, 19, was found dead Tuesday morning off of County Road 484 after he was ejected from his truck in a crash overnight. Kozlov was travelling east on 484 when his vehicle veered off the road on the right shoulder, before hitting a mailbox, a barbed wire fence and a tree, according to Florida Highway Patrol. The tree caused the truck to rotate clockwise and eject Kozlov, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. The crash was estimated to have happened at 3 a.m., according to the FHP report. The report said it was unknown why Kozlov’s vehicle went off the road. The investigation had yet to determine by Tuesday night if alcohol was involved.
