A Dunnellon man and hiker was found dead off of the Appalachian Trail in Virginia.
Authorities discovered the body of 55-year-old Michael Charles Lombardo Sunday, July 17, in a tent about a mile from the multi-state trail, off of Mountain City Road near Damascus, according to Washington County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Tim Widener on Thursday.
Foul play isn’t being suspected, and Lombardo’s body, which authorities believe was in the tent for several days, was sent to be autopsied, Widener said.
