The driver of the Dodge Ram pickup truck involved in last Friday’s fatal crash on State Road 200 died Sunday, June 28, 2020, at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The 60-year-old Crystal River man was at the hospital's burn unit being treated for burns that covered approximately 60% of his body.
A 10-year-old boy who was injured in the wreck remains hospitalized and is expected to recover from his injuries, troopers said. The boy’s 39-year-old mother and his 16-year-old sister were killed in the wreck. Both were pronounced dead on the scene, according to the initial FHP report.
The driver of a third vehicle, a 73-year-old Ocala woman, was also pronounced dead on the scene, according to the report.
The crash remains under investigation.
