Snowbird Appreciation

Citrus County Chronicle Production and Circulation Manager Tom Feeney explains the press operation during one of the dozens of tours given Thursday at one of the Chronicle’s Annual Snowbird appreciation events. More than 1,000 snowbirds along with 30-plus vendors attended the event. Attendees were treated with free giveaways, food and tours of the facility.

The Citrus County Chronicle will host a Snowbird and Customer Appreciation Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at 1624 N. Meadowcrest Blvd., Crystal River. There will be tours, vendors, music, food, giveaways and more. Come to socialize, celebrate our snowbirds and take a look at the inner-workings of the Citrus County Chronicle. All are welcome.

Attend a music festival and car show

The fourth annual Bluegrass and Old Time Music Festival and Car Show will be from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Rock Crusher Canyon, 275 S, Rock Crusher Road, Crystal River. All years and makes of cars and trucks are welcome. Over 30 awards will be presented based on judging at 2 p.m. There will be live entertainment including that of blue grass, folk, rock and roll and oldies. Vendors will be selling crafts and food. No pets will be allowed in the stage area. Car show registration is $25 at the door or $20 in advance, due by Jan. 21. Registration includes two tickets for the music festival. Registration will run from 9 to 11 a.m. Proceeds will benefit local charities.
