Fish to restore Chassahowitzka playground
The public is invited to participate in the fifth annual Chassahowitzka Community Catch Fishing Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 22.
Funds raised will be used to restore the Chassahowitzka community youth playground, the Eleanor Brittle Playground.
Entry fee is $50 per angler. Youth division age 16 and under, $10 entry and includes a meal ticket and ditty bag containing official tournament T-shirt and other goodies.
Captain’s meeting is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at the Chassahowitzka River Lodge, 8501 W. Miss Maggie Drive, Homosassa. Awards Ceremony and Fish Fry is from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at the lodge.

Artists to gather at Watercolor Society show
This year will mark the 28th Citrus Watercolor Society show and sale that has been conducted at the Ellie Schiller Homosassa State Wildlife Park. It will take place from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, and from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at the Ellie Schiller Homosassa State Wildlife Park. This organization has contributed 20% of all sales made during the show to the Friends of the Wildlife Park. The show features many of the Nature Coasts leading watercolorists.
