Dozens of students from the Citrus Resource for Exceptional Students in Transition, CREST, and program participants with the Key Training Center participated in the Key-CREST Field Day Friday, Oct. 21. Various events held on the Crystal River High football field, track and gymnasium afforded developmentally disabled participants the opportunity to take part in the games. Running events on the track, softball and disk throw, putt-putt golf and soccer kick were just a few of the events organized for the athletes. The Kiwanis of West Citrus organized the event along with Crystal River High, according to the Key Center. After many consecutive years of competition this was the first year for the games after missing the previous two years due to the pandemic.
