Norrid reads to class

Norrid presents her book to St. John Paul’s first through fourth grade students

The teachers at St. John Paul Catholic school invited local author and illustrator Sandy L. Norrid to present her book, “Finding Joy” to their first through fourth grade students.

Ms. Norrid explained how she wrote the book, drew the illustrations and went about publishing her work. With the help of United Way Reading Pal, Marjorie Ebbert, and five student volunteers from the fourth grade class, the story came alive as they read the book out loud.

Ms. Norrid brought her original artwork to share and spent time answering student’s questions.

All the children were given a coloring page of one of the book’s illustrations to encourage their own creativity. “Finding Joy” is a delightful children’s book that reminds us of the true meaning of Christmas.

Ms. Norrid said “It was really a special experience presenting my book “Finding Joy” to St. John Paul’s first through fourth grade students. The children were so attentive and asked a lot of very insightful questions.” Anyone interested in a signed copy of “Finding Joy” can email
