An Inverness man is being accused of soliciting sex acts from a teenage girl during a yearslong online relationship that also led to alleged molestation.
Roy Alan Blotz was arrested Monday on felony charges of using the internet to solicit a child to commit a crime, and lewd and lascivious molestation of a person between the ages of 12 and 16, according to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).
It’s alleged that 53-year-old Blotz started sending the girl, now 14, suggestive and illicit comments on social media sites during the summer of 2017, according to Blotz’ arrest report, obtained Wednesday.
In an interview Monday with CCSO Major Crimes Unit detectives, who were investigating a tip, the girl accused Blotz of messaging her and requesting nude photos. When she would see Blotz in person, he would touch her, she told detectives.
The girl took screenshots of the messages Blotz sent her and shared them with the sheriff’s office.
CCSO investigators then pulled Blotz in for questioning. He admitted to sending the girl messages over the internet and on his cellphone, but said he didn’t remember sending her anything graphic, his arrest report states.
After being shown copies of the screenshots, Blotz told detectives he was the one who sent them, and also admitted to molesting her, his arrest report states.
Deputies then jailed Blotz, whose bond was set at $12,000.
