A Homosassa man was arrested last Friday on a charge of sexual battery for allegedly forcing a young girl to perform a sex act on him.
Carl Elwyn Fry Jr., 29, must serve a life sentence in prison if convicted of the capital-felony charge.
He also faces a life-felony count of lewd and lascivious molestation on a person younger than 12, an offense punishable to up to life behind bars.
According to Fry’s arrest report, obtained Monday, the 29-year-old was driving the 7-year-old girl to her home when the battery occurred. The girl reportedly told a family member, who alerted authorities.
CCSO dispatchers told responding deputies they were getting 911 calls about Fry threatening to take his life. While police were on the way to Fry’s home, Fry got into a vehicle crash in the 6000 block of West Homosassa Trail, according to the arrest report.
While he was being treated in an ambulance following the crash, Fry reportedly admitted to a deputy that he did drive the girl, and then that he attempted to take his own life behind the wheel after he was confronted by the girl’s family member.
Fry then asked to speak with the deputy alone, prompting the medics in the ambulance to leave; the remainder of his statement to police was redacted from the report.
Deputies arrested and jailed Fry with no bond on the sexual battery and molestation charges.
