A 67-year-old Homosassa man entered the bedroom of a sleeping girl and touched her inappropriately, according to a Citrus County Sheriff’s Office arrest affidavit.
Kevin Curry was arrested for lewd/lascivious molestation over 18 on person under 12. No bond was set.
Deputies began investigating a sex offense in Homosassa on Nov. 3. According to the report, the girl disclosed to her mother that on Oct. 24, Curry entered her bedroom and touched her inappropriately while she was asleep.
Special victims unit detective were assigned to the case and on Nov. 10, a forensic interview was conducted at the Citrus County Children’s Advocacy Center. According to the report, the girl said she was asleep next to her sister when Curry entered the bedroom at approximately 3 a.m.
The girl alleged Curry began to touch her over her clothes on her genital area, which awoke her. She said no additional sexual acts had occurred that day. She also alleged Curry slept in the bed with her afterward.
On Nov. 12, a forensic interview was conducted with the girl's sister, who alleged she saw Curry sleeping in bed next to her. The girl's cousin also observed Curry enter the bedroom.
It was discovered during an alleged telephone conversation with Curry, he admitted to entering the bedroom and touching the girl inappropriately. However, he denied touching her sister.
During a post Miranda interview with Curry, he reportedly admitted again to touching the girl and sleeping in her bed, but again denied touching her sister or cousin. According to the report, he told deputies he was “sorry” for what he had done.
Curry was arrested and transported to the Citrus County Detention Facility for booking and processing.
