FWC upgrades Wildlife Alert System with Tip411

“We are excited to begin using the new Tip411 system to connect the public and FWC law enforcement,” Wildlife Alert Board Chair Virginia “Jenny” Brock said. “We believe in this digital age – the text and app options will increase public safety and conservation efforts by encouraging more people to report violations.”

Tipsters who want to report a wildlife violation can do so by either:

Downloading and using the “FWC Wildlife Alert” application for either Apple or Android devices;

Sending a text message to 847411 (Tip411) with the keyword “FWC” followed by the violation’s location and details;

Calling the Wildlife Alert Hotline at 888-404-3922; or

Submitting a tip online at MyFWC.com/WildlifeAlert.

According to the FWC, the agency’s Wildlife Alert program started over 30 years ago to encourage the public to contact FWC law enforcement. If their information leads to either a citation or arrest, a tipster becomes eligible to receive a reward between $100 and $1,000

Members of the Wildlife Alert Reward Association, which is mostly funded by court fines paid by wildlife violators, administer the Wildlife Alert program, and support it with fundraisers.
