DUI arrests
  • Gary Powers, 60, of Bahia Circle, Ocala, at 11:23 p.m. May 31 on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence. According to his arrest affidavit, Powers crashed his vehicle into a Hernando home. He was asked to complete field sobriety tasks and did poorly. He refused Breathalyzer testing to measure his blood alcohol level. His bond was set at $1,000.

  • Berley Underwood, 75, of North Capri Loop, Hernando, at 12:14 a.m. June 1 on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence with property damage. According to his arrest affidavit, Powers was involved in an accident in Hernando. He was asked to complete field sobriety tasks and did poorly. Breathalyzer testing of his blood alcohol level registered 0.217 and 0.208. The legal limit is 0.08. His bond was set at $2,000.

  • Joshua Martins, 31, of West Oaklawn Street, Homosassa, at 12:30 a.m. June 1 on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence, DUI with property damage, possession of cannabis, and drug paraphernalia. According to his arrest affidavit, Martins was involved in an accident in Homosassa. He was asked to complete field sobriety tasks and did poorly. He refused Breathalyzer testing to measure his blood alcohol level. His bond was set at $4,500.

  • Kimberly Arnold, 52, of North Verona Lane, Homosassa, at 3:19 a.m. June 1 on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence. According to her arrest affidavit, Arnold was involved in an accident in Homosassa. She was asked to complete field sobriety tasks and did poorly. Breathalyzer testing of her blood alcohol level registered 0.119 and 0.119. The legal limit is 0.08. Her bond was set at $1,000.

Other arrest

  • Alexander Ellison, 22, of North Rembrandt Way, Inverness, at 12:07 a.m. May 30 on an active warrant for misdemeanor charges of improper exhibition of a firearm and discharging a firearm in public. His bond was set at $2,000.

Burglaries

  • A residential burglary was reported at 10:36 a.m. Thursday, June 6, in the 4700 block of S. Lovering Point, Inverness.
  • A vehicle burglary was reported at 5:26 p.m. June 6 in the 4400 block of E. Arlington St., Inverness.
  • A residential burglary was reported at 5:35 p.m. June 6 in the 7700 block of E. Spanish Trail, Floral City.

Thefts

  • An auto theft was reported at 9:12 a.m. Thursday, June 6, in the 4400 block of N. Custer Terrace, Hernando.
  • A petit theft was reported at 11:18 a.m. June 6 in the 4200 block of E. Lake Park Drive, Hernando.
  • A grand theft was reported at 2:47 p.m. June 6 in the 2500 block of N. Railroad Way, Hernando.
  • A grand theft was reported at 4:29 p.m. June 6 in the 1700 block of S. Mooring Drive, Inverness.
  • A misdemeanor retail theft was reported at 5:07 p.m. June 6 in the 2800 block of E. Gulf-to-Lake Highway, Inverness.
