Many businesses were forced to close for an extended period of time due to the outbreak of COVID-19. One business, Shaw Senior Home Care, has not even had the chance to open their doors.
Shaw Senior Home care was scheduled to open June 1, but with the coronavirus some adjustments had to be made. “We are looking to open sometime in July,” Cliff Higgens said.
COVID-19 also affected Higgens being able to get a background check since he was not able to go inside any place to get it done.
With the stay-at-home order being lifted the biggest challenge they have faced is having to reorganize everything. “We are currently moving the furniture into the building,” Higgens said.
Shaw Senior Home Services is a business that will provide services to seniors who do not want to be in a nursing home. “We will help them with whatever they need,” Higgens said.
In the next two years, “I hope there will be a steady stream of business,” said Higgens.
Shaw Senior Home Care is located at 1037 E. Norvell Bryant Hwy. in Hernando.
