Citrus County’s economy continues to improve, so businesses and organizations need to be ready to step up their game to take advantage of it.

That often takes an investment in training. The Citrus County Chamber of Commerce and the College of Central Florida’s Corporate College are partnering to provide training again in 2020 for local business, industry, nonprofit and government entities to address specific management and employee needs and improve skills for success.

CF has been offering customized corporate training services for over 20 years. CF’s Corporate College has been operating since 2017 primarily in Marion County, but last year extended training opportunities to Citrus County organizations in partnership with the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce.

The topic lineup this year is based on what Chamber members and workshop participants said is important for them in their businesses. Each interactive, two-hour workshop will provide practical and useful tips, tools and techniques that attendees can start using right away.

The 2020 schedule was interrupted with the college’s closure during April and May due to coronavirus safety constraints. Before that, topics covered were cybersecurity, the law surrounding service dogs and business networking.

Starting in June, topics will include: The entrepreneurial equation; Marketing & your brand: how to drive your success post-Covid-19; Real talk about your financial statements, post-COVID-19; ADA website compliance: making sure your website is fully functional for all abilities; Time management, planning and goal-setting with accountability; Social media: managing your online presence for business advantage; and Leadership vision: setting the tone and charting the course.

Specially tailored or deeper-dive sessions on any topic can be arranged through the Corporate College.

Schedule revisions were required due to health concerns and expert guidelines. Beginning with the June class, workshops will be offered once a month. At least through October, they will be delivered via Zoom. By November, we will assess the possibility of face-to-face sessions.

After you register online, for those classes being delivered via Zoom, you’ll be sent a Zoom invitation to attend. This will be specific to you; do not share it.

Individual workshop fee is $29. Register and pay online at, or call 352-873-5855 or write to You don’t have to be a Chamber member or Citrus County resident to participate. No refunds will be granted five business days prior to each workshop. Pre-registration and payment are required to attend; walk-ins on the day of a workshop are discouraged.
