The 2019 Crystal River Oktoberfest will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Rock Crusher Pavilion, 275 S. Rock Crusher Road, Crystal River.
Come see why Oktoberfest is celebrated throughout the world. The order of the day of celebration will be German food, German live music, German dancers, German contests and Oktoberfest beer.
“This festival is unlike other festivals,” said Best Florida Fest President Lisa Yeater. “It has all of the excitement of other festivals, but with the German flair.”
The festivities and excitement will begin at 10 a.m., with all vendors open 11 a.m. Entertainment during the day will include the Alpenrose Band and Schuhplatter Gruppe Alpenrose German Dancers and the Randy McNeeley Band.
Festival-goers can test their Oktoberfest skills at the Beer Stein Holding contest with a $50 winning prize; the Pretzel Toss with a prize of $50 for first place and a Beer Stein Stacking skills competition for a $50 prize.
Also on tap are a Best Beard and Mustache contest with first place of $100; Pass the Beer with a first-place prize of $50; and the Yodeling Contest with first place earning $50.
The contests are open to all.
