VFW Post 8189 and Auxiliary visited the Veterans residing at the Sugarmill Manor

From left are Auxiliary Youth and Scholarship Chairman Joel Steele, Auxiliary President Roger Ingall, Auxiliary Secretary Renee Tennant, Taylor Pickering, Auxiliary Hospital Chairperson Nona Pesnell, Auxiliary Patriotic Instructor Mistie Pickering, Auxiliary member Linda Geno, Barbara Fitzlaff and Past Post Commander Bill Pickering.

To commemorate Veterans Day 2019, the VFW Post 8189 and Auxiliary visited veterans residing at the Sugarmill Manor in Homosassa to honor them. Each received a box filled with snacks, puzzle books, playing cards and candy from "Operation Gratitude." Accompanying each box was a Veterans Day thank-you card from kids at the Rock Crusher Elementary YMCA after school program.

In all, 7 Veterans were honored for their service.
