Arts, crabs, more in Ozello

The 14th annual Ozello Arts, Crafts and Blue Crab Festival hosted by the Ozello Civic Association will be Saturday, Nov. 30, located off U.S. 19, at 14095 W. Ozello Trail in Crystal River, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free and parking is free. Dogs are not allowed unless they are official service animals.

The festival is known for having some of the finest artists and crafters from in and out of the state of Florida, besides Ozello’s delicious blue crabs. The blue crabs are cooked and served along with other tasty foods on the premises by three local Ozello restaurants — the Island Outpost, Peck’s and Backwater Finns. Clam chowder will also be available. Other food vendors will be there with tasty offerings and there will be live entertainment.

Members attend many different festivals all year long, selling raffle tickets for a kayak, then the winner is announced on Feb. 15, 2020, at the group’s annual Chili Cook off. The Civic Association contacts the winner, if he or she is not present during the Chili Cook Off.
