Hello and welcome back after a long hot summer. We all look forward to fall and the beautiful weather to come.
The board has been very busy over the summer putting together a very interesting year, and welcomes all of our members back (and new members too).
This year, the New York Club will celebrate it’s 34th year, leading us into a new decade. Come and join us for our first luncheon of the 2019-20 season on Thursday, Oct. 10, at the Citrus Hills Country Club in Hernando in the Hampton Room.
All are welcome. You do not have to be a New Yorker to join us.
Price is $17.50 per person, or $35 per couple, which includes tax and tip. The check must always be received by the Thursday before (Oct. 3) the luncheon.
The menu includes tossed salad, choice of roast pork dijonaise, chicken stuffed with broccoli, baby glazed carrots, wild rice, rolls, dessert, coffee or tea. If you do not like these choices, a chicken harvest salad is available. If you have allergies or medical issues, please let us know. Bar drinks will be available.
Send your check to: The N.Y. Club of Citrus County, P.O. Box 56, Lecanto, FL, 34460. Be sure to write your choice(s) at the bottom left hand side of the check. No payments will be accepted at the door.
Every month, we either have a guest speaker or some form of entertainment. December is our holiday dance party, February is our Valentine dance and April is our annual picnic.
This month, our guest speaker will be Jennifer Cruz from the Citrus County Department of Health, and Immunization Specialist Freda Dunn. They will discuss many of the health issues facing our county today. This is one presentation you can’t afford to miss.
We have a fantastic line-up of 13 trips through December including a river boat luncheon, rodeo, festivals, Cirque du Soleil, Disney, and two theater trips at the Straz. If you are interested, call Tania at 352-461-0980 ext. 12512.
If you are interested in joining, the club dues are $10 per person per year. Please contact Marie at 845-667-2900, and she will be happy to answer all of your questions and send you an application.
For returning members, dues are due by Oct. 1. You do not have to fill out a new application every year anymore, but please let us know of any changes.
Raffle tickets and Share the Wealth tickets are available. Don’t forget to bring a donation for the Citrus Abuse Shelter Association (CASA) bin located to the left of the front stag. Needed are toiletries, kitchen items, baby needs and anything that women, men and children could use.
We look forward to seeing you on Oct. 10.
