Knights of Columbus Council 6168, Fourth Degree Assembly 1547 and the Council 6168 Ladies Auxiliary saw new officers formally installed during ceremonies held Aug. 24 in the Knights of Columbus Hall along Norvell Bryant Highway in Lecanto.

John Uva of Citrus Hills accepted a second one-year term as the Grand Knight of Council 6168. As Faithful Navigator, Jerry Orbino of Pine Ridge Estates is the new leader of Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree Assembly 1547; he replaces Citrus County Sheriff Mike Prendergast, who continues in the assembly as its faithful admiral (former faithful navigator); and Tyra Otto of Beverly Hills returned for a second one-year term as president of the Ladies Auxiliary.

The Ladies Auxiliary is the only organization of its kind in the area. It is associated with Knights of Columbus Abbot Francis Sadlier Council 6168, which in turn is associated with Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Beverly Hills.

Father James Hoge Fourth Degree Assembly 1547 draws its members from five Knights of Columbus Councils in Citrus County. Fourth degree members have advanced through three earlier degrees and are associated especially with the virtue of patriotism.

Knights of Columbus Abbot Francis Sadlier Council 6168 and Assembly 1547 are part of the 1.9 million-member international Knights of Columbus. Its members are practicing Roman Catholic men from throughout the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, Poland, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Panama, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Cuba, Guatemala, Guam, Saipan, Lithuania, Ukraine, and South Korea. They welcome new members.
