The holiday season is about to begin again. Everyone is busier than usual and the frantic pace can be stressful.

Reduce your stress by staying fit. Give yourself the gift of fitness by spending 30 to 60 minutes a day devoted to you. Walk, bike, run, take an exercise class, swim, play pickleball — whatever works for you. At the Y, we offer a wide variety of physical and educational activities. Join the Y family for a less stressful holiday season. Happy Thanksgiving!

Here’s what’s coming up:

TLC Physical Therapy — Osteoporosis

Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. — Join Nurse Practitioner Robin Holloway and Physical Therapist Tammy Wallen as they discuss the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. They will also provide simple suggestions for modifications to home/lifestyle for safety and to prevent falls.

A simple exercise program for strengthening/stretching with the use of Therabands will be offered. TLC will provide the Therabands with printed instructions.

Their mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported 1 to 1 relationships that change their lives for the better.
