Friends of Citrus and the Nature Coast is a charitable organization providing community grief support workshops for anyone who has experienced a loss; telephone support; grief support resources for all ages; educational materials for parents and teachers; and children’s grief support camps. Help and support are available for everyone during these difficult times, especially.

Some groups coming up and ongoing are:

Chair Yoga for Grief workshop

A Chair Yoga for Grief workshop is presented from 10:30-11:30 a.m. every Wednesday by Friends of Citrus and the Nature Coast at the Wings Grief Center, 8471 W. Periwinkle Lane (gold building on right), in Homosassa Springs.

It is conducted by Ellen Armitage, community liaison volunteer and certified chair yoga instructor.

Grief Toolbox grief support group

A nationally recognized grief support group being introduced by Friends of Citrus and the Nature Coast is The Grief Toolbox, which will hold its first session starting Tuesday, June 23, at the Wings Grief Center, 8471 W. Periwinkle Lane (gold building on right) in Homosassa Springs.

The Grief Toolbox will meet for nine consecutive Tuesdays from 4:30-6 p.m.Through video presentations, handouts and discussions, it will provide support group members with an understanding of the grief experience and a place to talk openly about their grief, bringing them the essential tools they need to deal with their grief.

Compassionate Friends Nature Coast Chapter

Friends of Citrus and the Nature Coast has announced that the Compassionate Friends grief support group will meet for the first time on Wednesday, June 24, at the Wings Grief Center, 8471 W. Periwinkle Lane (gold building on right) in Homosassa Springs.

Sponsored by Hooper Funeral Homes & Crematory, this is an ongoing support group that will meet the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month from 6:-7:30 p.m. It is open to those who have lost a child at any age, including parents, siblings and grandparents.

These groups will observe CDC guidelines for safety and gatherings; since space therefore may be limited, be sure to reserve your seat in advance by contacting Friends of Citrus and the Nature Coast Grief Services Manager Susan Quenelle at 352-249-1470.
