The Kings Bay Rotary Club recently donated $1,000 to Music in Medicine, a local nonprofit that promotes the use of therapeutic music in hospitals and other medical settings.

The donation was made at the request of Rotary member, Alana Rich, for a memorial for her son, John Crowder. Crowder was a talented guitarist who appreciated all forms of music. At every opportunity, he could be found jamming with friends, entertaining and playing in public wherever he happened to be.

Music in Medicine will use the donation to help pay for scholarships so local musicians can train to become therapeutic musicians. They currently have five musicians in training.
