Citrus County Parks and Recreation has reopened county parks and beaches for summertime activity. For the health and safety of citizens and furry friends, practice the simple “Do’s and Don’ts” for pet owners that bring their dog(s) to county parks.

-- Keep your dog on a leash with the exception of Bluebird Springs, which has a fenced dog park;

-- Walk dogs on walking/ jogging trails;

-- Walk dogs during daylight hours only;

-- Use cleaning stations and bags provided at the park, or bring your own, to clean up after your dog;

-- Only bring your dog to parks approved for dog walking.

Do not:

-- Bring your dog to Fort Island Gulf Beach or Hernando Beach. Pets are not allowed.

-- Let your dog run free at any county park.

-- Walk dogs in fields or green spaces — please stay on designated trails.

-- Bring dogs to special events.
