The St. Scholastica Knights of Columbus Council 14485, in cooperation with the St. Scholastica Parish Culture of Life Ministry, recently conducted their annual Baby Bottle Campaign.
They collected and donated $5,925.85 to the Pregnancy and Family Life Center of Citrus County. In the last 13 years, the Knights have donated more than $56,000 to the center.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Knights were not able to hand out the traditional baby bottles for parishioners to take home and return them with spare change.
Instead, the Knights personally collected donations and received contributions through the mail. With the exception of grants, donations are the only means of providing financial support for the services that the center provide to their clients.
All services of the center are confidential and free of charge. You don’t have to be pregnant in order to receive assistance.
Support services provided by the center include: parenting education and preparedness training for mothers, fathers and extended families, personal financial education, maternity, infant and children’s clothing, diapers and wipes, food pantry and adoption services.
Health services and screenings provided are: pregnancy testing, mental health counseling, STD/STI testing for men and women, annual physical, pap and lab tests for uninsured women and limited OB ultrasounds.
