Career Online High School returns to Citrus Libraries

The Career Online High School graduating class of 2019 are pictured at their graduation ceremony held at the Old Courthouse in Inverness. In addition to the graduates and their loved ones, library and county staff were in attendance to congratulate them on their accomplishments.

The Citrus County Library System believes it's never too late for success. They are offering Career Online High School, a nationally accredited program that allows adult students to earn a high school diploma, not a GED, while gaining career skills from a selection of employment fields.

The library system is currently seeking residents to enroll in this free program. In addition, interested learners can earn a scholarship once it is confirmed that they qualify for the program.

Scholarship applicants must be 19 years or older, a resident of Citrus County and have a Citrus County Library card in good standing.

Once enrolled, students are paired with an academic coach, who assists with developing individual learning plans. This coach will offer guidance and encouragement, evaluate performance and connect the learner with resources to demonstrate mastery of course material.

Classes are supported by board certified instructors and students have 24/7 access to the online learning platform. Students can graduate in as few as six months by transferring in previously earned high school credits, but are given up to 18 months to complete the program.
