Are you ready to make a difference in the life of a child?

Take Stock in Children is a school-based mentoring program that assists in creating a brighter future for deserving youth by providing college and vocational scholarships, volunteer mentors, tutoring and long-term support.

  • Take Stock in Children of Citrus County is a program sponsored by the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Take Stock in Children currently monitors 51 active students enrolled in Citrus County’s middle and high schools.

In September, we will be accepting applications for new students. For those students, we are looking for caring adults who will help make a difference by mentoring, once a week, in school, for 30–45 minutes.

Take Stock is not a tutoring program, rather it is a program that provides support, guidance and encouragement for students as they work their way through middle & high school and prepare for college.

Call Pat Lancaster, program manager, at 352-422-2348 or 352-344-0855 to learn more about the program, to receive an application and to sign up for our Aug. 9 mentor training.

Our new 2019-20 student scholars will be waiting to meet their mentors. By becoming one of our Take Stock mentors, you can help make a difference in the life of one of our student scholars.
