Tickets are now on sale for the third annual Casino Night Extravaganza slated for Friday, Sept. 13, hosted by the Citrus County Children’s Advocacy Center at The Elegant Pelican, 7395 W. Pinebrook St. in Crystal River.
The gala benefits Jessie’s Place.
“Jessie’s Place is a child-friendly facility designed to bring necessary services to the victims of child abuse,” Melissa Bowermaster, executive director, wrote in her appeal to potential sponsors.
“Without Jessie’s Place, children who have been the victims of abuse are required to travel to different locations to tell their stories many times over. The very system designed to protect them often serves to further traumatize them,” she explained.
“With Jessie’s Place, investigative services are coordinated and abused children receive forensic interviews, medical exams, advocacy services, ongoing therapy services and more in a facility designed to make them feel safe, secure and comfortable,” Bowermaster noted. “This approach limits secondary trauma caused by multiple interviews and improves the lives of children and families.”
The event will be from 7-10 p.m. with the thrill of Las Vegas-style, casino-style games while enjoying music, hors d’oeuvres, chance drawings and a silent auction. Participants can also win chances for a cash prize.
With their ticket purchase, everyone will get a drink ticket and $500 in casino cash to play with that evening.
DJ Trae of Fox 96.7 radio will be on hand in his Elvis duds with music and entertainment for the evening.
“Tickets are $60 and it will truly be a spectacular event,” said Rachel Blair, executive administrative assistant.
Bowermaster said the gala welcomes more sponsors and donations. To sponsor, donate or to get tickets, email Blair at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 352-270-8814 for more information.
