Brief Description of Event: Save Our Waters Week is sponsored by Keep Citrus County Beautiful (KCCB), which is a 501 (c) (3) entity.  The event is conducted each year in partnership with Citrus County Government, Southwest Florida Water Management District, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Citrus County Chronicle and the College of Central Florida to promote public awareness to save Citrus County’s rivers, lakes, estuaries and springs from further deterioration and ecological disaster.  The theme for this year is “Make a Difference, Save Our Waters”.  The week features numerous participation opportunities: scheduled activities; essay, photo and poster contests; guest commentaries in the county’s newspaper of record; and local radio and television promotions.
